#73: Chrome fails to load PDF: "cannot use adobe pdf in your browser"

Click on any PDF link in Chrome

Full text of error:
Adobe Acrobat
"Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in your web browser. Reader will now exit. Please exit your browser and try again."

I have a version of Adobe Acrobat Pro installed, and it seems to be colliding with Adobe Reader.

upgrade to newest version of reader

by upgrading to the newest version of reader (i downloaded adobe reader 9) , i work around this issue. the installation also integrates the new reader to the browser, and the old version of adobe acrobat editor is no longer the go-to app (and doesn't trigger the error)

reading pdfs in chrome, happy as a clam.

This thread has a lot of discussion about fixes, most of which look too complicated. Looks like Adobe Acrobat 8 is the issue. Maybe gotta upgrade to 9?
