All downloads stop at "a few seconds remaining" but do not ever finish. The underlying TCP connection is already marked closed.
Disable Firebug 1.3.0

Disable Firebug 1.3.0, which has a bug that interferes with the download manager.

Firebug is the problem

Firebug may be the issue here. Or antivirus, but this is Mac.
